we've got a good offer on a holiday this weekend but never sure whether Turkey is safe. Is it?

I'm sure you'll have a great time mysonsmummy, I know the odds are very low, I bet by looking at the statistics it's more likely you'd be killed in a car accident in England, my..... aren't I a bundle of joy tonight

I'm regretting acting so cautiously already, not many holidays on offer when I tried to exchange, ended up in a country that I had already decided never to go to again, and also ended up paying a few hundred to swap as well. I'll watch out for your next thread in a week saying how great Turkey was

where have you decided to go ? did they actually charge to - thats terrible!

macwoozy · 30/08/2006 10:28

Yes they did charge, it was Thomas Cook, £80 per person and there are 3 of us. I'm off to Menorca now, it's a nice little island but so quiet, not alot really to see, which is why I originally booked Turkey, I was really looking forward to hiring a car and checking out a few places. I've been to Turkey on several occasions and I've loved it. No doubt you will too.

No, but then, I wouldn't holiday in Turkey at all.

My mum is due to go on Monday and at the mo she is still going as she can't afford to lose the money. She's not happy about it though.

just to let you know,i didn't go!
I had a phone call from my Dad-who incidently never speaks on the phone normally and is actually suffering from dementia...!-begging me not to go to Turkey! I have never heard my Dad speak so passionately about something before and I cried after!!!!Reckon it was him who had the premonition not me!

me and ds went to the first choice holiday village 31 august. meant to go for a week but stayed for 2. - it was fantastic - the flight was half empty so lots of people had cancelled. first choice gave you the chance to change if you were going to marmaris but anywhere else they would'nt. didnt go on a dolmus though. not that brave!!
