Best way to get to Hampton Court by train to get 2for1 tickets?

If you get the train to Hampton Court you can get 2for1 entry tickets. We're driving up at the weekend and I can't work out the best place to park and get the train to Hampton Court.

Then I can work out the train fare, parking fees and decide if it's worth the hassle for a free adult ticket.

Thanks.

Trains run every half hour during the week from Waterloo, not sure about weekends. The station is close to the palace grounds and also have additional parking. The palace and station car parks get very busy at the weekends.

I visitthe palace for work a lot so have never actually paid to view the palace but I imagine its over £10 per adult so train will probably be easier if you are london based.

probably too late but...the next stop up is Thames Ditton, pretty little village with limited parking but there might be space there if you don't mind a bit of a walk.

allow the whole day for the palace and gardens. The adult fee is £17 online, a bit more at the door. Don't bother with the maze, you won't have time.
