I've suddenly got some time to myself without kids Easter Thursday - Easter Saturday. I live in the East but happy to travel, train, plane, hire a car. Happy to stay in a hostel. Where shall I go? What shall I do?

Have a city break! Bath would be nice or my favourite would be Edinburgh!

So you would travel on the Thursday and return on the Saturday. Maybe not enough time for a flight. In the UK you could look at Oxford or Burford in the Cotswolds, London, definitely Edinburgh, Brighton, South Downs, New Forrest, Peak District. So many!

I'd go hillwalking in the Lakes. Short notice accommodation might be tricky to come by at the moment though. Or I'd check out exhibitions in major cities, see which one tickles my fancy and work around that.

Wow, what a nice surprise and treat for you. I think wherever you decide to go you will have a great time....just enjoy your "grown up" time away. Go somewhere you have always fancied exploring...if you are flexible on accommodation, which you obviously are, then I think you should get a bargain. Hope you have a great time.
