End of May is a lovely time to go to Turkey, the weather is gorgeous, hot in the day but not burning like the summer months and warm in the evenings.

My favourite part of Turkey is the Bodrum Peninsula, there are lots of lovely resorts, ranging from busy and lively to traditional and relaxed.

What kind of resort are you looking for? I could suggest other areas if you give me more information on the kind of holiday you are after.

If you are going AI do make sure you go for a good quality hotel as the cheaper ones are really not up to much. If you go for 5* you should be fine though. I have been going to Turkey for over 20 years but I have never been AI so can't recommend a particular hotel.

Thank you for replying.

Usually me and DH wouldnt go AI but thinking of doing so for DS. We like exploring and going out of resorts and exploring eg walking, trying local restaurants , sights etc , mixing with locals but as we now have DS thought we would try and find a hotel/complex that could include things for him too plus may include a few other children. Our nightmare holiday would be discos and more British than local culture. However I do like a good bathroom with functioning shower and unlike in my younger days where budget meant I stayed inIndia/Africa with flooding bathrooms !

We're going to the Sherwood breezes in Lara beach on the 15 th may, lovely hotel, nice area. Can't wait.

Hilton hotel sarigerme mr Dalaman. AI, loads of pools and (separate) slide pools, lots of shade, kids club if you want it, kids disco between 8 and 9 every night (away from main bar areas), lovely hotel, fab grounds, tennis, football, golf, archery, water aerobics...
Lots to do, but you can easily do nothing ( it's so huge).
We went in sept with a toddler, and are going back in May.
We didn't leave the resort for the full week.Blush fabulous.

Delphin palace in Lara is good for ai. Lots to do on site. Kids club, pools, restaurants, beach, funfair, kids disco. You can use the facilities in the hotel next door at certain times as well.

Most of the big AI hotels are pretty much in the middle of nowhere so you wouldn't be able to just wander about outside of the hotel much. They also tend to be international/British oriented with lots of organised entertainment, which may not be what you are after. If you do want AI you could look at WOW Bodrum, which is near to Gumbet so you could walk in there or jump on a bus to Bodrum, just 15 minutes away.

Otherwise you could choose an apartment complex, which will give you things for your little one to do and other children to play with but would still give you the freedom to explore and eat out on local restaurants. Maybe Bitez would suit if that were the case as it has more of a local culture than British, ie no loud bars, discos etc. it also has a nice beach

Turkey is a very family friendly country and they will always cater for children wherever you go.
