just done a girly weekend in london:

morning in health spa and gym
pub for lunch
vinopolis early evening (wine museum and tastings)
some place called sczuzi in canary wharf for dinner - great meal and live music

overnight stay in travelodge on the £26 room deal

whole thing was about £130 inc travel and drinks

my sis is hiring a london eye pod for her 30th - not sure what we'll be doing in it but sounds fun

what about centerparcs - anyone done this?

you might struggle with cp - I'm sure they don't cater for single sex groups

tracyk · 21/08/2006 21:09

I thought it would be good - pampering for some and swimming/cycling for the others?

Where abouts are you and how far do you want to travel.

tracyk · 21/08/2006 21:19

I am in Glasgow - with another 2 or 3, 1 in Leeds, 2 in Birmingham, a couple on the south coast and a couple in bedford. I'd prefer not to travel too far - maybe 3 hours or so - but no flying!

I mean no flying for me - the others aren't scaredy cats!

Ok here or here

I think centerparcs could be good - don't see why you couldn't book some villas close to each other and go and use the spa etc

Crieff Hydro has cottages that you can rent for large groups and it works out very very cheap. My friend dit it for her 40th birthday weekend. Sadly I had to pull out at the last minute as h was in the States.

The good thing about Centrparcs is that it is kind of closer for all of us. 2 hours for the Scotish lot and 2 or 3 hours for the English lot.

I'm looking at renting a Youth Hostel for my 40th next year. You can get some really good venues in the low season. Have a look at their website at www.escape-to.co.uk. Some of them are cheaper than hiring villas at Center Parcs...!
