Name on Ryanair booking different to passport - will it be ok?

I've booked tickets with Ryanair for our family and some friends next week.

I've just checked us all in online and noticed that I booked one friend on as the name that he is known as day to day (Nick), but that the name on his passport is his full name (Nicholas).

Please reassure me that this won't be a problem. If it will, I'll have to cough up the fee to change it.

I'm afraid it is going to be a problem and you'll need to change it. Otherwise the airline is quite likely to refuse to let the person board the plane.

Yeah, some airlines might have let this go, but Ryanair definitely will not.

It needs to match the passport. I hope the fees aren't too bad!

No! Big problem potentially! Get it changed!

Agree with PP I'm afraid, it definitely won't be ok.

Ryanair are a shower of cunts and if there is any single thing they can Di to extract money from you, they will. Get it changed, quick!

I'll phone them in the morning.

I'm feeling very cross with myself now. I thought I was doing well getting us all checked in, then once I'd clicked to complete it it suddenly dawned on me.

I feel like I might have just learnt a very expensive lesson Sad

Shock

After a 10 minute wait to get through, I've just spoken to Ryanair customer services who have agreed that the name should be the same on the booking as it appears in his passport. They will uncheck him in, alter the details and send me an email then I'll need to check him back in and reprint his boarding pass.

No mention of a fee Grin

That wasn't worth the sleepless night that I had!
