Anyone know of a toddler-friendly hotel in Amsterdam?

Or any nice, groovyish hotel in fact.

Any any recommendations for activities/eating when accompanied by two-year-old?

Cheers

There is a lovely cafe in Vondel Park right beside the children's play park. There is a lot of sand at the play area so pack a bucket and spade (we searched for ages looking for the blooming things - eventually a local took us to a shop!), wellies wouldn't go amiss either. My dd loved going on the trams and the zoo is most definately worth visiting. The Anne Frank Huis was also a must(go as early as you can).

We ate mostly at the Hard Rock Cafe, there is also a Wagamama's and they have McDonalds etc.

I am trying to remember the name of our hotel - it was a nice spacious room with a single bed for dd. I will post a link to it when I remember!

hotel recommendations

all the ones I've stayed at (listed in thread on link)I would take my girls too aswell.

as for activities - theres the boat trips and a big musuem called nemo which I've heard is good for children - think its like a big sealife centre.

there is a zoo but never been.

huge park next to van gogh museum for a run around.

wouldn't take 2yr old plus buggy into anne frank musuem - v.steep, narrow staircases.

if you like cycling then this would be an option.

Oh dear difference of opinion there on Anne Frank!

We did have our buggy (must have left at reception or in a locker or something) and my dd coped ok with the stairs (she was 2.5)

Ah the Rembrandt Residence - that was it! Would agree breakfast not up to much but then I think it is pretty much the same all over Amsterdam

I'm probably being selfish though! As I love Anne Frank and would want to enjoy it without having run around after the toddler.
