We are going to a party in Wilshire next Sat and staying in Chippenham over night. What do you suggest we do on our way back to the coast on Sunday (will be travelling on M$, M25 and M23)? Is there a big wood/ play park rather than a specific tourist attraction? DSs are 5 and 10 and will have my DM who cant walk/stand for too long. Taking 2 cars. Thanks

This would be a good place. You don't have to pay to go into the discovery centre just enjoy the playgrounds and the Forest. There is a nice café and your DM can sit at the picnic tables to watch the children play. The café could also serve as your lunch venue. You have to pay for parking. If the weather is rubbish there is a swimming pool (Coral Reef) across the road which could be a fun alternative for the kids to burn off a bit of energy.

Lydiard park in Swindon? Lots of space and playgrounds and a lake. There's a go ape type thing but costs extra. The rest is free

I was also going to recommend Lydiard Park at Swindon, but it is very close to Chippenham.

If you're a National Trust &/or English Heritage member, see if they have anything?
