Do you mean puerto pollensa? Pollensa is a few miles away from puerto pollensa and thus not actually on the coast.

It's a lovely little town if you don't mind not being near to the beach though.

oh Thank you for reply Sixtiesqueen... I just mean the general area... it just sounds like a lovely place... general thoughts... is pollensa miles and miles away from the coast?

Pollensa is lovely -if you are hiring a car easy to go between both only 10-15mins apart.
There are loads of threads about Pollensa have a search in the archives.
Also there is a forum online called Pollensaforum if you google!

For accommodation we used Villa Parade a couple of times -they have quite a few Villas and apartments in the Pollensa area.
happy holiday researching. Smile

Old Town Pollensa is lovely- gorgeous little squares, shops and nooks and crannys. Not that far from the beach (too far to walk but a short drive.)

Puerto Pollensa also lovely- we have stayed there a few times in villas within walking distance of the town. We found Villa Plus very good - We were there a few years ago when the Icelandic volcano grounded all the flights and the rep was very helpful. The two villas we had were great.

Pollensa old town is lovely....I love the north of Majorca we have had many great holidays there. Lovely villas off the beaten track.

Enjoy

Pollensa is great - been going there since I was little and now go with my own DCs. Would also recommend Sealand Villas as well as Villa Parade.

Ooo! Thank you!
Have any of you used/heard of Luxury Villa Escapes?.... as i am considering using this company...

Pollensa sounds perfect... not mad touristy... but old town... little squares and lovely eateries.... perfect!

magentastardust · 10/04/2014 23:44

Ah yes Formentor is fab , also Deia and I like Soller too. Loads of gorgeous places to visit . :)

AHardDaysWrite · 10/04/2014 23:52

Pollensa is my favourite place in the world. You'll love it. Hire a car and you can be at the beach in ten minutes.

Don't miss the market on Sunday morning and have a meal at Clivia - pricey but so worth it!

SpringItOn · 11/04/2014 00:09

You will not regret it! Pollensa and puerto P are beautiful places. We've been going every year since our boys were 3/4. They're now 12/13 and they're looking forward to our summer hols. We usually prefer to stay in puerto P as there's more to do for the kids although it's not overly commercialised.
The old town of Pollensa is beautiful. It's not cheap once you're there though, but there are many restaurants offering menu of the day deals as otherwise you can be looking at €12 a starter €18+ a main for a seafront restaurant. It gets more expensive every year!
Are you taking kids?
Cala st Vicenze is beautiful & soller is well worth a visit. Go for it you'll love it.

We're staying between Pollensa and Puerto Pollensa right now and it is gorgeous. We rented a villa with Villa Plus and it has been great. Some lovely beaches around, my favourite has been the beach at Formentor. Cala st Vincente is very pretty too. The Sunday morning market at Pollensa is lovely and we have had coffee and cake quite a few times in the square at Il Gardino (fab pastries, you buy them in their shop and take them round to their cafe in the square.) Old Alcudia is also very pretty.

Oh Thank You for all the fantastic replies... will definitely head for pollensa now... just trying to narrow down which villa to go for!!!!
