what toys are a hit in your playgroups?

I'm about to take over the running of a playgroup in my village. The group is for pre-school children & meets for two hours once a week. It's got a good reputation, and the only thing I want to change is adding some new toys.
I know what toys my own children love at home, but I think that toys that work in the home do not always work so well in a playgroup. So if anyone could take the time to tell me what toys are really popular in the toddler groups they go to I can go shopping with confidence.

Thanks.

My lo goes to nursery and they have allsorts of toys. The ones that go down well indoors are cars, dressing up clothes, trains with tracks that they can build, musical instruments, animals and books. They also have a little kitchen with lots of teasets so that they can all have teaparties with the various teddies and dolls!!!

I think the hey is to have plenty of each thing so you don't get oo many fights over the same thing!!

I run mother and toddler groups, it does of course depend on the age of the children in attendnace. For us our home corner is a great hit, we have a kitchen , market stall, baby changing station, hig chair, prams and babies, dressing up stuff and we are going to develop it by adding an office and vet.

Puzzles go down well, especially if you are a mother and toddler group that mums get down and play at rather than sitting around drinking tea and coffee.

Colouring is also a bit hit as is play dough.

Big favourite with boys and girls is our little tikes car transporter as it has many uses, it can be small ride on and has cars that are nice and chunky to play with. big hit

Dolls as there are never enough as even the boys seem to like them.
Anything rideable bikes etc
pushchairs
Crawl through tunnels ,they like to stand up in them and pretend to be caterpillars
Wendy houses

Anything from little tikes. I used to work in a Butlins nursery and they were always popular and stood up really well to a lot of wear and tear.

The cosy coupe car and the country kitchen if you are getting big stuff.
