Recommendations for special 10 year anniversary holiday with 5YO, 2YO boys

Does anyone know of any special places anywhere in Europe for a lovely October holiday for our 10th wedding anniversary? We are just looking for a relaxed time, nothing too organised, but with enough to keep the kids happy and the two of us chilled (if that is possible). We like our food too. We're thinking about a week. maybe two. Scottish half term. Can you recommend a hotel, villa, town, area? We just can't decide!! Special, but not too ostentatious, if you know what I mean.

Johansens.com is a guide that recommends luxurious hotels, but not all shockingly expensive. We stayed at La Quinta Roja in the less touristy north of Tenerife. Also there's Hotel El Duque in the same town and in Puerto de la Cruz, a bigger resort, there's the Jardin Botanico. Theyre'll all in Johansens I think.
I've never been there, but I always imagine that Corsica ans Sardinia would be beautiful, but obviously might be cooler than Tenerife then.
Other places that might still be warm are Southern Spain, Provence, Sicily, Malta, Cyprus

barcelona for city, 15 mins away, sitges.. a fantastic family beach resort,a bit gay but have been going regular(i not gay!!)for years an its very very nice!!very clean an only 2hrs max on the plane an both places really near to airport so no tricky transfers

also stayed here twice last year in c,ala dor mallorca,fab marina, good places to eat 2hrs on plane .reccomend hotel "big time" for kids!!

Have a look at the Oceania Club in halkidi.We are just back after second holiday there.Really cannot fault it.Most excellant service and the cleanest hotel we have ever stayed in.Excellant for children.Choice of 4 restaurants. Have a look at their website www.oceaniaclub.gr. On the website there is a forum where people have given there views on thier holiday.

Crazily we have decided to drive to Edinburgh From our house on the Isle of Mull, get an 18 hour ferry to Zeebrugge and drive from there to Venice, Lake Garda, then Alsace in France. I have booked one night's accommodation so far through the Johansens website. Thank-you for the recommendations!
