Travel car seat for 11kg toddler

We are hiring a car in Sicily and then catching a boat to the mainland. We wanted to take a portable group 1 seat but have so far only been able to find a seat for up to 10kg & one for 15kg+.

Do you have any suggestions where we could find one?

Group 0+ seats do up to 13kgs

Group 1 runs from 9kg- 18kg

Group 1 seats arent particularly lightweight or portable

Can you not just keep him in the infant carrier?

Group 0 seats used to do up to 10kgs but are no longer produced btw as new infant carriers (Group 0+) do up to 13kgs

Thanks for the message. The problem we have is that we are looking for something we can carry with us on the days we are travelling across cities/on a ferry/train. Whilst a regular car seat works when we have a car it doesn't wrap up small, and we are 2 adults and a toddler, so carting around is a bit of an issue.

We're looking at inflatable/back pack solutions but can not find anything in the appropriate weight band.

I don't think there will be anything portable for that age/weight which is why you would be best sticking with an infant carrier that at least has a handle
