I kept the Times days out in London but it's at home, I'll have a look through it when I get home. Depends on the weather really - Princess Diana playground?

I always find Pizza Express really lovely for eating out with children - they always have crayons/high chairs etc (and a nice glass of wine for mummy). There are loads in London so depends where you are going. What about a trip to London zoo in Regents Park ?

London zoo

or if a nice day what about a picnic in Kew Gardens kew

Kew is v.good. There's the climbers and creepers play area which is undercover, and a big lake with ducks to feed. Good for kids and adults. The planes are a bit annoying though. You can eat at the Orangery if can't be bothered with a picnic.

Syon House (not far from Kew) has a butterfly house that my kids love. That's also nice for grown ups. You can eat there.

Have just been to London Zoo this weekend - worth going but....

Lots of work going on so quite a number of areas closed.

Not too many highchairs and some are broken.

Can recommend Pizza Express or Giraffe both on the Thames. Giraffe superb for eating - with crayons and balloons and lots of things going on - and very good food too!

Enjoy x

I agree, I wouldn't go to London Zoo at the moment. Its really expensive and your little ones probably wont' give a monkey's (ha ha) about most of it. My DD went recently and, because of the work going on, lots of animals not there or not coming out!

My DD loved Selfridges think it was all the sights. Really she did. Then we would eat at a small Italian that was around the back. You can't beat Italians -- they love children. Also is close to Hyde Park for a bit of a stroll....

I totally agree that Selfridges is wonderful (for me!) and strangely my DS has always loved it as well (doesn't normally get on with shops). St Christophers place has a Pizza Express (just behind selfriges via the Top shop exit) and the restaurant on the top floor in selfridges does have highchairs/ play area etc. Perhaps you could go for a walk around Hyde Park and then have a spot of lunch and shopping in selfridges& Oxford street in the afternoon.

We always go to the Paradiso which is just up from the Pizza Express on the pedestrian street (alongside the Carrluccios) The food excellant and v.good with kids.
