HAven't been for ages and am off next w/end with some friends. Can anyone suggest a good hotel (it's NOT a romantic w/end), good bars/restaurants etc? Thanks.

Hotel du Vin, great bar & restaurant in there too. Close to sea.

sykes · 15/03/2004 15:50

Thanks, Blue Sky - thought there was a Hotel du Vin. Will look.

Blanche House and Hotel Du Vin v expensive (IMO) altho H du V has a FANTASTIC restauraunt anbd lovely bar. My tip is Neo Hotel, 19 Oriental Place, Brighton (01273 711 104). Rooms from £40.

Really beautiful (done up by an Elle Decoration person)

Hotel Pelirocco is v v groovy with themed rooms - think it has a website

sykes · 15/03/2004 16:20

Thanks, JC. Have you heard of the Pavilion Hotel? Will look at your recommendation now.

jimmychoos · 15/03/2004 16:26

Noddy5 - do you live in Brighton?

jimmychoos · 15/03/2004 16:33

No, not heard of the Pavilion Hotel. I've just looked on web and Neo has a website too - sorry totally rubbish at links!

sykes · 15/03/2004 16:38

Thanks, JC, The Neo has availability - The Blanch House is full as is Hotel Pelirocco which looks brilliant. Going to go for The Neo, I think and we can just go for one night which is brilliant - they normally force you to book two. THANKS.

Hotel is booked so any recommendations for drinks etc? We're going to Brighton on Saturday. Hotel du Vin is booked solidly until June - but we may visit the bar. Thanks in advance for any ideas.

Help, help, in no particular order: drinks, sunglasses and shoes - advice? And, of course, food. Please?

Hi Sykes - did you have a lovely time? My dd has been poorly so missed yr posts - sorry!

sykes · 30/03/2004 11:24

Thanks, JC, it was brilliant. Went for drinks at Blanche House and another bar and to what was a rather strange club. Did stacks of shopping and ended up with a revolting pair of sunglasses (bought at the end of a shopping day with various stop-offs for drinks). Thanks for the hotel recommendation - it was just right.
