Thanks for replies... has anyone got any reccomendations for caravan parks in Wales, we are begining to think that it could be too long a car journey to the South coast from where we live
( north lancashire) Maybe Wales would be better

Thoroughly recommend Summercliff Chalet Park, which is two min's walk from Caswell Beach on the Gower - about 7 miles west of Swansea. It has a range of one and two bed chalets at reasonable prices. The beach is sandy and superb and it's a really friendly park. Doesn't have an entertainment centre or anything like that, but I think that's what I like about it. It's also within easy reach of lots of other things if the weather is bad.

We went to Hoburne Naish holiday park in New Milton (New Forest area) and it was superb. We booked through Hoseasons. We like it because

Relaxing site (we went at the beginning of July)
Accommodation was excellent standard (we stayed in a wooden lodge)
Ball play only allowed in designated area
Designated children areas and activities
Surrounded by beautiful villages and towns
Several beaches nearby and they were fabulous
Bournemouth and Poole nearby as is the New Forest

We had a great time.
