I think you will find cast roaming anywhere, I don't think Rhodes is renowned for cats so don't worry too much.

We stayed in Lindos, which was really pretty and had a lovely beach.

Pefkos is just further on from Lindos, lovely beach there as well and lots of good places to eat. Buses and taxis can take you to Lindos if you want, taxis have fixed rate fares so you don't get fleeced. It is incredibly hot though, from June onwards.

There are cats around, but they aren't really a nuisance, don't jump on the tables in restaurants or anything. Pefkos has quite a lot of self-catering apartments with shared pool, and so you have the choice of B&B, S/C, eating out in the evening or takeaway food.

If you like Greek history and archaeology there is lots.
