Wine tasting holiday for my DH's 50th

DH turns 50 in November and I want to book a short trip for us to celebrate (max 5 days), probably over Oct half term as I work TTO.

He has really got into wine over the past year or so (has always loved quaffing it, but now becoming more knowledgable and geeky about it) and I am considering a wine tasting holiday in the Bordeaux region...but have no idea where to start. So many companies offering tours, packages etc online and feel overwhelmed.

Any suggestions?

Go stay in St Emilion! You can visit lots of the vinyards and do tastings. It is very easy by train. I will find a link to the place we stayed. It is a lovely place for a weekend.

Just noticed the October bit - the pool might be doubtful :-)

I was wondering what to do for my 50th and a wine tasting tour sounds like a good idea! Grin
