I need a weekend away to remind DH and I that we do love each other - help!

I had a massive (but ultimately stupid) row with my DH last night. We love each other really but seem to have forgotten it recently so I have decided we should have a nice family weekend away.

Live in NOttingham and would like to go somewhere not too far, but on the coast (a tall order I know!) so guess we are looking at Lincs coast or north norflk. I would like a nice hotel with a restaurant, but DS aged 2 would be coming so needs to accomodate him too (would put him to bed with baby listening/ monitor before we have nice dinner) and ideally near a nice beach. By nice I mean quiet, skegness et al are my idea of hell!

Do not want to break the bank but could prob spend £3-500 as just checked my accounts online and betteroff than I thought i was this month.

Would like to find somewhere with availability this weekend (unlikely I know but may get a cancellation) but alternatively will plan for a few weeks time.

relying on you gorgeous mumsnetters for this xx

have had Titchwell Manor and The White Horse (both Norfolk) bookmarked for ages but never used either - ended up in Sussex when DH and I last did this.

Victoria at Holkham??
not sure how much it costs (is probably pricey) and may well be booked. But Holkham beach is amazing.

cupcakes, want to go to the Victoria but fully booked. Somewhere else near Holkham maybe? Or Yorkshire coast (love Robin Hoods Bay, are there any good hotels there??)

Don't know anywhere else in North Norfolk I'm afraid.
Bumping for the evening.

Oh I've eaten at the white horse when I stayed at brancaster! Looked like a nice place to stay - relaxed, right on the sea, great seafood, I think it would be perfect. You could go on lovely long beach walks and it would be great.

Melrose, hang on, I found some nice Norfolk places online recently, I'll see if I can find anyway. Otherwise I would check Laterooms, you should get a bargain at this late stage for this weekend.

WideWebWitch · 08/08/2006 19:33

I've deleted them, sorry. How lovely, have a nice time.

Hi,

If you are still looking for somewhere - how about Worcester? (next to Cotswolds, Birmingham, Cheltenham etc). I own a self catering luxury two bedroom apartment in the heart of the city. We do short breaks etc. Website address is www.jdr-leisure.co.uk - this will take you to the Elgar Suite apartment.
