We went to Hurgada to the Kempinski (sp?) 2 years ago. Can't recommend it enough.

We went to Sharm el Sheik to the Hyatt about 5 years ago and that was fantastic also.

Do people still get bad stomachs in Egypt or have things improved?

Crowler · 28/02/2014 11:28

I've never gotten one in a resort, they're super-safe stomach-wise. I traveled on a ship down the Nile 10 years ago with some friends and one of them got very very sick, we didn't see him for 48 hours.

Avoid ice in drinks

MOSagain · 05/03/2014 07:54

And of course only drink bottled water

We went last Oct, I was paranoid about stomach upsets so carried antibac gel everywhere and forced everyone to use it before eating, after the toilet etc as well as constant hand washing. Our 3 dd's were fine but my husband and I were both ill and we had to miss a trip. I think it was touching the money that did it for us!

Oh and we stayed at the Hilton Dreams resort which was lovely. Be prepared for all of the swimming pools to be absolutely freezing even on scorching days though, not that it bothered the kids!
