Holiday start days

Thinking about going away but the place I wanted is switching it's start day from Saturday to Friday. Then realised some places have midweek starts. Does anyone have any idea why? Don't people have to work? Find it really difficult to take bits of weeks off work and just wondering if I'm missing something.

Thanks grumpy frumpy I still don't get it, does everyone take 2 weeks off or just an extra day? I would have thought it would put a lot of workers off (and this particular holiday was hardly cheap)

Been loking at self catering villas for October half term AND next summer. I have rejected any that don't have a weekend (preferrably Saturday) start date. Too much hassle holiday wise if not.

here here hulababy, I've rejected this one too (and I was so impressed with myself for getting ready so early)

Particularly for the half term, getting the Saturday start date was important. We simply couldn't do Friday as that owuld have meant taking DD out of school.
