What are places like magaluf, laganas, salou etc like in September?

Obv is it is much cheaper to go to the biggest resorts but these tend to be 18-30 resorts so I was wondering what they were like in early/mid September? Are they still full of 18-30s type people or are they calmer? The brochure describes them as lively in high season but ideal for relaxing outside of them, is that true?

Also whats the weather like in the med in September? Still nice and warm?

I would still say Sept is high season tbh.

It's still nice and warm then though.

magaluf quietens down as soon as you hit sept- you dont get the volume of idiots that you get during high season. There will still be young people around, but it is much more relaxed. Which properties are you looking at?

same goes for salou etc

No where in particular really just debating a september holiday with some mates (another couple) and wondering where to look at tbh. Quite fancy somewhere on the costas or Mallorca but not sure Been to Mallorca a little bit but never to mainland spain

I have been to Majorca in September. Went to Palma Nova which is just the next resort round from Magaluf and it was fab. Lovely beach, quite a few nice restaurants and bars but with a calm and relaxed atmosphere. Walked round to Magaluf one evening and it was actually quite calm too. Plenty of people around but not loads of lager lout type creatures!!

Forgot to say the weather was lovely and warm, around the 25 celcius mark which was warm enough for the beach but not too hot. Hope that helps

September is the best time to visit greece IMO. Can't comment though on the 18-30's types if they are still around or not.

mammyjo I quite fancy Palma Nova actually so thats very helpful! Was it v.v.busy or not too bad?

i went to can pastilla years ago,its inbetween palma nova and magaluff.it was warm and lovely in sept but that was years ago.u have to go and see i guess.

Palma Nova is quite small so not very busy. There are enough people around so you dont feel as if you are in a ghost town, but not overly busy either. I have stayed there twice, both places near the beach and both really nice. The beaches were not too crowded either so never any problem getting a sunbed!

We were near Salou at the other end of the season at easter and it isn't much better ok it is less crowded, but still the same crappy shops and brit bars and clubs. September will still be hot enough to attract the 18-30 types as they don't have to stick to school holidays.

Of course it will depend on the type of hotel or appartments you go to. We stayed out of the centre in a Keycamp type campsite.
