Ive stayed in the Hyatt hotel on Broad Street in Birmingham. Its a nice hotel and the breakfast are fabby, its right in the centre of town opposite the syphany hall and REP. Broad street is where all the bars and resturantes are. It is expensive though. Im not sure how near to the NEC it is (will you have a car?) but it is near to the train station where you can get a train directly there. The food there looked really nice but we decided to go out for a meal. (Cant remember much else about it as was very drunk!) I loved the elevator though cause its all glass and you get a great view as you use it. Not much help sorry!

there is a hotel du vin

CountessDracula · 06/08/2006 11:52

I think there is a Hotel du vin there now but may be wrong. The newer ones not so nice IMO tho

Littlefish · 06/08/2006 11:59

Some of the villages in North Worcestershire are only about half an hour or so from the NEC and airport. I will have a think and come back later. Were you thinking of a city break, or a getaway sort of thing?

Places like Warwick & Stratford are not too far away either.

zippitippitoes · 06/08/2006 12:00

the radisson is a good modern hotel

hermykne · 06/08/2006 12:01

mallory court is good in a country house way with a well thought of restaurant but in the middle of nowhere about 30 mins from the NEC by car

tiredemma · 06/08/2006 12:12

malmaison in the mailbox is nice, as is hotel du vin.

you can a train direct from city to NEC.

zippitippitoes · 06/08/2006 12:12
