NYC places not to miss, cool bars to visit (child free)

Off to NY for a no child holiday. Its going to be freezing but it will be great as well.

Making a google map, where are your favourite places to visit?

Depends what you are going for? Culture or bars or shopping? It's years since i lived there but....

when it's cold the city bakery makes THE worlds best hot chocolate (3 W 18th St)

Spring street natural is good for bite to eat when hitting soho shops

Mooch round bleeker street in the village and mooch round the east village

The meatpacking district is the cool place to be I think now

Avoid Times Square and round there, it's just for tourists - expensive and not great.

Hit a high up bar - the one in the Empire state building is as good as any for sheer height, though not exactly cool.

Have fun wandering round.

My favourite bar in NY is Flight 151 on 8th Ave in Chelsea. Amazing jukebox, cheap drink deals on week nights and crayons provided to draw on the brown paper table cloths which is surprisingly enjoyable after a few beers
