Thinking of taking a Siblu holiday to one of these parks next May. Has anyone been to them or to Vendee generally? Any tips?

yes been to ormant - masson is accross road and is more lively - its a haven thing with the big tiger and everything - we went with keycamp in a tent.

its a beautiful part of frnace - white beaches a little train thing to town. st jean de monts is a great won for small chilren with bouncy castle on beach - near to a beachside cafe to have a beer the pool in dormant is great has a wiggle slide for older kids - bar quiet think they stop enertainment at 10 or 11pm.

at which point you can cross the road to mason - which is a bit more bulins esq. with evening entertainment kids reps doing stupid things , people dressed as large furry mascots etc.

i would go for dormant - then you can either take or leave the tackness as and when required.

the pool at masson is bigger, better water slide indoor bit IIRC

Fantastic advice Custardo! Yep the quieter one would be the best to stay at then we can pop over the road to the better pool in the day. Really cant be doing with fluffy animals and chav entertainment all night.

How did you drive down there? How long did it take? We are thinking of doing the tunnel as its included and then driving either overnight or during the day with a stop in a cheap motel.

Any other tips?
Thanks

we got the ferry - but i hate ferries and i am the only driver in the family. so sea sickness and a days drive in another country are not reckomended - so yes i would take the chunnel any day and do any extra drive.

cant remember how long it took - but we didn't stop over ( saw your other thread) we stopped at what we hilariously ( only to us purile english twats) call the 'aire de's' you will see 'aire de xxxxx and its a stop over some have petrol stations some just have a bench. kids were about 9 or 10 would hazard a guess at 5 or 6 hours.

but then i am very used to friving for that amount of time at one stretch as i regularly do a 300 miles trip to oldham.

i rather liked the tacky entertainment - loved dancing with my daughter and doing the macerena! whilst drinking sex on the beach and staggering home - the kids gave me a head start then used to chase me til i was caught and tickled til i screamed "toilet..i need the toilet..."

holidays...ahhhh....the only time you can be shitfaced with kids and social services dont get involved!

had great time there.

We stayed at Bois Masson several years ago (first year Haven bought it) & remember thinking that the Dormant site looked greener & more peaceful. Last year we stayed (with Matthews) at Les Genets, just down the road but walkable to the beach (smaller site but much cheaper).

There is soo much to do in that area, Waterparks, Go Karts, Markets, Go-Ape high rope parks, & we travelled to a Safari park & Le Puy de Fou (a must if you can make it).

We did Portsmouth Cherbourg & it was about a 4 hour drive, but have also been from Calais in a day.

We have had loads of holidays with Haven (Siblu), all great, and are using them this year but different site.

Has this been nominated for quote of the week yet?
