Armbands in Belgium

Does anyone know whether Belgium has the same rules about armbands as the Netherlands? I.e. Will my 4 and 7 year olds have to wear them in the pool at Centerparcs in the absence of a Belgian swimming certificate?

I lived near Brussels until two years ago and public swimming pools did not have this rule.

That said, Belgium is a federal state so rules are not the same across the country. Flanders may be stricter.

Maybe your best bet would be to contact the Centre Parks you intend to stay at?

I think I'll do that - quite why I didn't just do that in the first place I don't know! [smile

cheerup could you let me know what they say, please?

We are off to de Vossemeren for February half term, and I'd hate to have to take armbands for DS (7).

And leave a review, so we can see if you liked it. We are off to De kempervennen at Easter.

Centerparcs provide the life saving vests for free. They are on racks as you enter the pool

We are at De Vossemeren for Feb half term too! Have tried to email but the address I found doesn't appear to work. Will post again if I manage to make contact.

We have armbands but would like the children to practice their swimming while we're there rather than just bobbing around!

I live in Belgium and have never seen this rule in local pools. CPs might have their own rules though. I have been to Eperheide and don't remember one.

Dingit, we are going to De Kempervennen at Easter too

They had the rule at Duinrell though - so maybe it is a Dutch thing.

cheerup we rang CP using the telephone number on the website when we booked DS into the Wannabe a Pirate activity. They speak perfect English and were really helpful.

Only two weeks to go.....
