Have got a reasonable flights to Toulouse but never driven in the continent.
So need an area around Toulouse with reasonable train connection.
Preferably a self catering place near river, lake and keep a 13 and 6year old happy.
Once we are there we don't mind renting a car to try driving locally for seeing places of interest. But if we can't drive we need a place to entertain the kids for a week.
I prefer a gite instead of camps, PLEASE need recommendation as there are vey few seats left on the flight..

When are you going? Unless its July or August, I would book the flights then worry about accommodation, Toulouse is very well connected by motorway to the Languedoc and lots of lovely places to stay. Have you looked around Carcasonne, Lagrasse, the Lauragais?

If you are going July or August, you may find a lot of the better value gites already booked but still worth looking. We booked somewhere via Trip Advisors Holiday Lettings site but also found lots on Gites De France and French Connections websites.

You mention train connections and car hire. Having a car will give you a lot more choice and freedom.

The same time as us - although we're driving down! Good luck finding somewhere.
