Just that really. Are shops open on Sundays? Not far from Ambleside so could go there. It's too icy to walk up a hill.

Go on a steamer, they're covered indoors. Haverthwaite railway, aquarium at lakeside. A walk round Hays (Ambleside) and dinner in the cafe. Some shops will be open I would think.

"not that cold"???? Brrrrrr.... you're hardier than me footie! Shops will all be open op. Boat trip on covered boat is good. Or low level walk from Ambleside to Grasmere (with stop at nice warm cafe on arrival). Do you have kids? Good soft play in Ambleside or Bowness.

Best day here for ages. Wrap up warm and get out. Brockhole is great and just pay for parking. Steamer is great and you could go over to hawkshead on it. Keswick has great shops and cafe etc and take your cossies and go to Keswick spa pool with slides etc and after walk up the railway footpath.

Enjoy.

It's a lovely day today. We are off to the Dales for a change though.

Sorry for the late reply. Walked around Grasmere, then Keswick. unfortunstely, cafe on the lake was closed (renovations) so had lunch -fish n chips. was good actually. Next day managed to climb a mountain as it was reasonable weather. Plus went to Dove cottage. Drove through Ambleside on the way back - looked nice. Will explore that next time. Thanks fr the replies.
