Summer holiday time and we're looking for a self-catering villa for 2 families with 4 dc aged 2 & 4. Anyone stayed anywhere they liked? We probably need 4 bedrooms and nice pool somewhere in Europe, not too touristy. Ideally something like an old farmhouse in France or Spain, would be peak season. TIA

I have stayed in a villa called Cassandra in calpe in Spain. It has a pool and is a massive villa divided into 3 apartments so ideal for separate families to get a bit of space . It's walkable to the town and beach but outside touristy areas . It was through James villas if that helps .

Loads of beautiful villas that will fit the bill in the Dordogne, we either use 6 bed (when sharing with 2 other families) or 2 bed ( when on our own), so i can't recommend a specific one to you, but something near Sarlat would be great. We love the Dordogne, loads of things to do that are accessible for young children such as boat trips, fun castles, Sarlat square usually has bands or entertainers in the evening and the children seem to love it.
Chez Nous has a lot of good properties.
