I should have added that I am looking for somewhere suitable for 2.5yo twin boys and a double buggy.

Haven't actually been but used to live near - if you do go then combine it with a trip on the DLR which your boys wil love - they can sit right at teh front of the train and pretend to be driving it, and DLR stations/trains are v. buggy friendly

Thanks, that's what we planned to do and they love trains

As city farms go it's not my favourite but it is the biggest in the UK so has lots to see. The best farm in London IMO is Spitalfields but then I did use to be the manager!!! Check out the website www.spitalfieldscityfarm.org
Also if you go to www.farmgarden.org.uk you should be able to find more farms and community gardens near you.Have fun.

Wow, thanks for that laundrylover.

I liked the look of Mudchute because we won't have to use the Underground, just the DLR (we live in Kent so will change at Lewisham). We use the Underground once with our double pram and vowed never again. Most stations do not have lifts and escalators not wide enough for a hazardous free journey, imo.

Yeah know what you mean about the tube. With Spitz Farm you could get the East London line to Shoreditch and then not too many steps up at the end as it's a surface line.
You'll enjoy Mudchute tho - it's just not very 'community' IYKWIM.
If you're feeling adventurous you could even do my cycle route off the farmgarden website!!
