If you Google Appuldurcombe House lots of ghost stories pop up! Apparently Most Haunted shot here too. It does look desolate and quite isolated so maybe it's just the superficial creepiness that sets people's imaginations going?

(I'm the grand Poobah of Wusses, I know.)

IOW has been disappointing the last couple of times we have been. Its like england about 30 years ago and not in a good way. maybe we were unlucky with the weather (rainy/cold/windy there and nice where we live on mainland) and also restaurants/take aways we chose.

Best bit was the crossing, which is expensive. Personally I'd prefer the south coast
