Villa in Tuscany in June with a newborn - are we mad?!

We'd love to go to Tuscany for a villa holiday this year - but dc is due beginning of April which would leave us June or September to avoid school holidays. We also have 2.5yo ds. Would we be completely mad to attempt this with a 6-8wk old baby and a toddler?!
We're thinking two weeks, possibly in two places (a week each) and flying then hiring a car.

Not totally mad, but I'd go for September rather than June. We first went away when DS was four months old and it was fine. Remember you will need to organise a passport for your baby, and you will need time to recover yourself. Six weeks and you may still be bleeding, or may have had a CS.

I took DS1 to Tenerife and DS2 away to Cyprus when they were both 10 weeks and had lovely holidays. I wouldn't do the two centre holiday though as the packing in between would be a lot of hassle.

we've been with a 2 month old and a 2 year old, and then another time a 2 month old, 3 year old and 5 year old.

things are no more stressful than they are here once you are there. flying would be the worst bit and all the hanging around in airports - we did a ferry, once we had all 3 instead of flying.

i would consider going in just one place to keep logistics simple. also investigate pool security - is there a fence round it?
