I need advice on when is the best time to travel! We visited DLP in Nov 2012 as both dc were preschool age and they loved it (as did we). Although cold which we were very much prepared for, the park was not busy, think being able to walk straight onto the Buzz Lightyear and Pirates of the Carribean rides!! We would very much like to visit again but as our eldest is now at school we are looking at either August,Oct half term or Xmas (between Xmas and new Year). Dh is on about August, I think it will be to hot and to busy, and wondered about Oct or Xmas, we don't mind cold and rain and we know it will still be busy but will it be less busy than August? We plan on staying on sight and staying min 3 days, we will also have a baby with us so dependant on visit baby will be either 4 months or 9 months. All opinions welcome, even if you recommend another time of year :)

I'd go for Christmas rather than October ,if its during school holidays the park will be equally busy but the Christmas season IMO is better than what they put on for Halloween ,unless your DCs are particularly into the Disney villains .

Halloween was busier than August last year!!
We loved Christmas at Disney, but it was very very cold. We stayed in the Disneyland Hotel so we could come & go with the 17 month old easily & made use of room service. Expensive but cheaper & nicer than most of the restaurants & huge portions.
Last year we went in August & October half term with a 4,6 & 10 year old & 2 babies who were 7 months in August & 9 months in October.
We used slings a lot & tag teamed the older ones.
We got into the park around 8.30 using the magic hours & let the babies (both crawling each visit), stay at the hotel in the afternoon & evening. This worked well because the big ones enjoyed the rides & stopped the babies from getting too grumpy at being in the buggy for too long. Also the big ones weren't left waiting around whilst they fed etc.
