We are thinking about Rome as our Summer holiday this year as our ds's are both very into the whole Roman Empire thing and we'd all love to see the sights, but we don't want to completely miss out on our usual time by a pool.
Ideally we'd like to stay in a family hotel just outside of Rome as long as there are good transport links, half board if we could find one with decent food, and do a couple of day trips into Rome, maybe even staying there for a night.
Does that even exist? I've been looking but it's hard without knowing what areas to search.
I'd also be grateful for any suggestions of good family hotels in Rome, as if we do make it just a city break then we might go for a shorter time and stay central, but would we end up spending a lot of time looking for places to eat and spending a fortune that way?
Any ideas and suggestions on how to make this happen will be much appreciated!
