Can anyone recommend a safe , warm , winter sun family friendly holiday destination?
I was thinking of Cape Verde. Anyone been with babies? Anywherelse .. around 3 weeks. Want to rent a villa/apartment on a beach, could be in a resort or private rental, but wont break the bank? I love Thailand and India , did it when I was travelling solo many years ago but the fear is all of us getting sick in India, so with a young baby not good.

You'd be bored stiff in Cape Verde for 3 weeks. Try South Africa. Long haul but no jet lag.

Sri Lanka. We had 5 weeks there and that was not long enough. Hire a cottage on the beach for around £150 week. Food really cheap.

If you fancy India how about Goa? There is plenty to keep you occupied for 3 weeks. I wouldn't backpack round India with a one year old but would happily take one to Goa. We have been when DD was 3, 4 and 5 as we liked it so much.

Otherwise, agree with Sri Lanka, or Thailand or Malaysia.

We have done all these with a young child, Malaysia was when she was 18 months.

We now have DS and are going to Mexico this summer when he will be just over one. Staying near Cancun.

Caribbean? (though not in hurricane season, Octoberish) We took babies/toddlers several times and had some lovely holidays.

Sounds great! Thanks for the ideas. : ) I like the sound of the Carribean or even Sri Lanka.. if anyone can recommend one of the cheap (er) Carribean islands where I could rent a little house on a beach or Sri Lanka.. my heart keeps saying Bali because I never had the chance to visit but its so far away. Unless we stop off at Singapore for a few nights. think we can stretch to 4 weeks if its a fairly cheap rental on the beach but not too basic (need kitchen and bathroom), December to January.
