We are off on holiday to this region of France and have thought about a visit to Futuoscope. Not spoken to anyone who has actually been there...so has anyone any hints or suggestions about this place and what is suitable for 4 kids - between 5 and 8?! Thanks

every year we pland to go to futuroscope, but have never made it. have enjoyed a trip to the aquarium at La Rochelle which i thought was brilliant and open in the evening- la Rochelle also has lovely shops and great selection of restaurants.
the Zoo at La palmyre is also worth a trek.

not sure of your exact loation but can chat a bit more about the area between Royan and La Rochelle if any use.

Thanks - we are east of Royan south of La Rochelle - any suggestions would be most welcomed. We have 2 weeks and want to take the kids to the beaches as well as La Rochelle / isle de re / but haven't got much further than that! I am all ears!

We went to futuroscope on a brief visit and want to go again armed with more info. We will be taking the kids swimming costumes and towels so they can play in some of the water features. They were really disappointed that we couldn't let them play in them last time. The universe show was stunning.

Went to Futuroscope years ago and thought it was fantastic! Not sure how good it is for kids though!

cremolafoam you are a star - thank you so much! Have copied all the relevant pages and are now even more looking forward to the break. We aren't there until the 19th Aug so will have to miss the fireworks but we will be out there picnicing / market browsing / boating etc from then on! It looks a wonderful area to explore - thanks.

just a thought zazas- august is very busy especially along the coast, so be prepared for busy beaches and traffic!
