Where to go in September or October?

I have a week off to take in September or October and I need ideas. Its for me, do ands the DDS, who will be 3.4 and 18 months by then. So far we've only had uk camping holidays, but I'd like to go abroad this time. Budget for flights and accommodation is £1200 max, ideally less. We had looked at Istanbul, but I'm not sure what it'd be like at that time of year. We'd be flying from Newcastle or Edinburgh ideally.

Can anyone inspire me?

I'm going to Majorca . Hired a villa that sleeps 4 and 2 flights total = £700.

This is in October

Canaries, Spain, Balearics, Greece. The earlier you go the hotter, busier and more expensive each place will be, assuming you don't pick Oct half term. I love them all but if it's October I'd probably pick Playa Blanca in Lanzarote in a villa with a pool - good weather pretty much guaranteed. 4.5 hour flight time is the only downside with little ones but it was never a problem for us.

I have been to Italy and the South of France many times in September and it has always been glorious.

Majorca sounds like a good deal!

Thanks for the ideas. We'll avoid half term, definitely. I'll check out some of those places,

Yep I'd recommend Balearics too for that time of year - Menorca, Majorca or Ibiza. We went to Ibiza last year for first time and loved it so going back again this year - it's a beautiful island (away from San Antonio!)

Istanbul will be lovely and warm - we could eat outside in the evening during the October half term when we went. It is an incredibly busy city so might be very tiring with two small children.

Menorca is lovely for small children
