Hi

Can anyone recommend a restaurant in Oxford for next Saturday night (1st Feb)?

We have a family group of us meeting up and staying over at the YHA. There are 16 of us altogether, including children (aged 3-11), parents and grandparents and I don't want to pick somewhere that's too pricey, as some of us are students etc so don't want to make it difficult for those who are on a budget.

Thought of gourmet burger kitchen but just don't think we could all sit together. Also found Pierre Victoire but maybe too pricey. Can anyone recommend anywhere that is walkable from the YHA (which is by the railway station) and has some large space (maybe a conservatory area etc) where we could sit together that has pub-type prices??

I realise I have probably left it too late but am clutching at straws.

Thanks

You may well have left it too late, but Browns is always nice in a please-all-comers sort of way. It's a busy place with a big menu and they're used to catering for large parties. I'd definitely ring today though.

There is a Jamie's Italian place near the bus station, on George Sreet, though not sure if that will be too expensive. Otherwise, there is Gino's right next to the bus station, which is lovely and where I ate often as a student. Finally, Dosa Park is across from the Said Business School and a minutes walk from the train station, and does the best Indian food in Oxford and is v. cheap. However, its really not fancy and more like a kebab shop with some tables. It regularly has large groups of Indian students though, so you might be able to book.
