Ok I'll stop now!

I'd book a.s.a.p if I were you - places around here get very booked up for the concert weekends. (I live close enough to the Castle to sit in our garden and listen to the concerts). What type of places does your mum like - modern, luxurious, traditional? Would she want to be able to walk to it, or to drive? You could try the hare on the hill which is new this year and run by the people who used to the Hare on the Park which is a b&b just along the road from the main castle entrance. I was going to recommend that, because it had a really good reputation, but when I checked their website they say they've moved.... The new place is a bit further away, but still looks good.

thanks GillW... anything will do as long as it is nice and clean... maybe a little luxurious too!... have looked ath the Hare on the Hill... but it doesn't look as nice as the Hill on the Park... but may still try it! (funnily enough this was my main choice as had looked it up in the alistair sawday book - the ultimate in nice posh b and b recs! ) have also come across the Aylesford Town House Hotel (which looks nice on the insode but not so nice on the outside - any views on this one?) and also Forth House which also looks really nice...

looking forward to hearing your views - you being a local and all!... as i really should get my skates on and book!

Thanks!

Don't know anyone who has stayed at the Aylesford abut have eaten there quite often. Restaurant is good (though Warwick has a lot of other good restaurants too), and it is very close to the castle - easy walking distance. Oh and it's just on the corner of the street where Dangerfield's surgery was - if you remeber that TV series!

I don't know anything about Forth House - other than it is a little further to walk from the entrance they usually use for the concerts.

thanks gillw... you were right about places getting booked up pronto! eventually booked them into the aylesford... the manager sounded very nice and am now quite excited and envious of my parents... for the pottering and going away bit... i could skip the Cliff Richard bit!!!

thanks again!

Bea
