Days out in or around York for 3yo

Hi we are off to York this weekend - does anybody have any recommendations for a day out with a 3 yo girl? She loves trains so the Railway Museum is definately on the agenda but we want somewhere else to take her. Thanks Limy

The Yorkshire museum is fun in museum gardens. My 3 year old boy loves it. The castle museum is quite good fun too.

It's residents weekend this weekend which means residents get quite a lot free or cheaper so some places maybe busier than normal but the castle museum and Yorkshire museum are free to residents anyway so you should avoid us all there!!
