We are thinking of doing a fortnight in France to watch the le Tour (as well as watching the start in Yorkshire). As schools break up on 18th July, we are going to have to go to the Pyrenees stages.
Has anybody got any advice for some nice gites/ self catering places to rent? The route is-
Tuesday, July 22nd Carcassonne > Bagnères-de-Luchon
Wednesday, July 23rd Saint-Gaudens > Saint-Lary-Soulan Pla d’Adet
Thursday, July 24th Pau > Hautacam
Friday, July 25th Maubourguet Pays du Val d’Adour > Bergerac
Saturday, July 26th Bergerac > Périgueux
We know that Carcassonne will be too far out and wanted somewhere a bit more central to the cycling.
There will be two adults and one toddler. We would like to stay somewhere with outside space and where we could walk for something to eat and to the shops.
Any advice would be welcome!
