A great all inclusive hotel (not Turkey or Egypt) with loads of activities for 12 and 14 year olds

We stayed with Thomas Cook at a hotel in Fuerteventura (Suite Hotel Atlantic in Corralejo) last year and couldn't fault it. Best of all was a fantastic animation team and my DS loved every minute - loads of activities and he made lots of friends.

Can anyone recommend something similar?

Aphrodite Hills in Cyprus has lots for teens and you can stay on all inclusive there if you want.

secretscwirrels · 17/01/2014 14:39

I'm searching for the same thing OP, although mine are a little older.
I have picked out a place in Turkey that sounds perfect but DH will not go to Turkey.
I've been to Corralejo before, how far is that hotel from town? Would it suit 16 / 18 year olds? Does it have salt water pools?

Kbear · 18/01/2014 17:09

aphrodite hills bit above my budget sergeant....

secretsquirrels.... it's ten min walk into the main town - no salt pools, all chlorine - daily bus to the good beach (ten mins) where there was good surf, no entertainment for older kids really,

I am looking for a similar place for this summer, but not quite found what I am looking for!

Last year we stayed at Hotel Saturno within the Club Mac resort in Alcudia, with first choice

It gets very mixed reviews but my DD (12 at the time) loved the unlimited free access to the waterpark and there was always something going on that could be joined in (or not) all day.

ShadowOfTheDay · 20/01/2014 14:52

do you mind me asking....why not Turkey? we go regularly...

secretscwirrels · 20/01/2014 15:37

why not Turkey?
Political instability
Dodgy human rights record
Huge civil unrest last year
Virtually at war with neighbours
Long flight
Last, but not least, DH gets gyppy tummy just looking at a brochure.

Who was I kidding even suggesting it.

DrNick · 20/01/2014 15:37

bloody love turkey

givemeaclue · 20/01/2014 17:45

Love turkey too!

MadIsTheNewNormal · 20/01/2014 18:12

the civil unrest was not huge, it was a very localised storm in a teacup.

As for the other two - what? Confused

Agree about Egypt though - it's a hole.

asandwichshort · 20/01/2014 18:16

Pavlo napa, nissi beach, Cyprus - check out trip advisor. Been 4 times and loved it

Kbear · 21/01/2014 22:16

just don't fancy Turkey or Egypt... I have a list of 87 complicated reasons, which I won't bore you with :)

Don't be offended, lovers of Turkey and Egypt, each to their own!

Ahem! What about my Cyprus one above?

flatmum · 21/01/2014 22:37

turkey is a 4 hour flight that's not very long is it ....?

Anyway

Kbear · 22/01/2014 06:54

asandwich - sorryyyyy I have looked at it - looks fab, will be showing DH tonight :)

I think 4.5 hour flight is my max for a weeks holiday so it's not the length of the flight, I just don't want to go there.

Thank you for your ideas so far....

asandwich - what was the animation team like?

A right good laugh!!! Not too pushy which I like! the two main ones have been there every year with extra new ones added each time. What I like is that the other staff ie reception, bar staff etc are still there year after year too. Also RIGHT on the beach and a dive centre in the grounds (Olympian divers) who are great characters and give free scuba lessons in the pool. The breakfast and dinner are usual buffet affair ((v good)but lunch is a menu where you can pick from toasties right through to mixed grill (with a soup salad and sweet buffet too!) PS I forgot to mention we have been to Suite Atlantis too - once!! We liked it too but Pavlo Napa we've been 4 times in the last 5 years ! Sadly we can't get the flights that suit us this year x
