our camera will hold 120 pics but really i could do with more capacity than that for the hols. i went into town today and for any decent size card it is going to be about £40...i don't really want to pay that. if i can find my other camera i will buy some films for it.

but what does everyone else do? aslso - do you have more than one battery??

DH bought a 1GB card (should hold just over 300 pictures) for £29.99 in Curry's - though there are plenty of places on line you can get them cheaper!

foxinsocks · 27/07/2006 18:10

I bought a card - can't remember how much I paid (have a look on amazon, seem to remember they had some good prices on there)

it's a long term investment thing - we have had the card for years

TBH, buying a spare card is one of the cheapest methods. You can buy portable gizmos where you can store/view photographs (similar to an ipod but dedicated camera/photo storage, with a similar price tag) but they're pricey unless you want an ipod for music as well (so you were going to buy it anyway). Also a spare battery or an adapter to charge it regularly is essential.

QoQ - that sounds good for curry's; i went to small independents thinking that they would be cheaper

What memory cards do you use?Cheapest place we found SD cards were play.com here 1GB for £16.99 I have two of these and had no problems with them so far. However it is worth removing the little sticker from the front of it as one of mine did get caught once.

cazzybabs · 27/07/2006 18:22

How did she caught? WHo by? What for?

I have the memory card that came with the camera (only a little one) & also got another one that's 128MB which is plenty for a week especially as OH has his own camera with more memory. I just delete rubbish pictures as I go along.

My camera didn't come with a charger - can buy that separately but I chose to just get rechargable batteries & charger for cameras. They are quite reasonable in Argos. I just take the charger & 4 batteries with me as well as the foreign adaptor things which I need anyway.

AQ - I was recommended trying the Play.com ones by the guy who worked on the digital camera stand at John Lewis. And his mate agreed with him. I had just boguth my camera fromt hem and was about to buy a 1GB card from them - but didn't. Went home and ordered two of these to take to Florida with me (got two so I had plenty of roomfor mini videos too).
