Where to go in April that is sunny with a soft sand beach?

We are thinking of going away during the Easter holidays, before Ds2 turns 2 and we have to pay for his flights . We need somewhere:

• close to a soft, fine sandy beach, preferably with rockpools, for DS1 to play
• pretty much guaranteed sun
• ideally within walking distance of a beach, or with a shuttle bus to the beach
• within a complex type thing, with swimming pools and restaurants
• ideally with interconnecting rooms, or with a bedroom we can screen off, so that we can put the DC to bed and not have to lie in the dark and whisper!
• as short a flight as possible

All suggestions much appreciated. Is Egypt the best choice, do you think?

Tenerife? Can't give details of hotels as I've never been but good all-year weather and soft sandy beaches. 3 hour flight, I think.

I've never been to Tenerife, but I sort of mentally discarded it as I thought that the beaches would be gritty sand, rather than soft white sand. I may be doing Tenerife a complete disservice though!
