Swim nappies are not always easily available so take enough

Swim nappies
UV 50+ suit
Sunhat
Sunlotion

We also took DD's favourite dry snacks in case we didn't find anything she liked. But she survived on fruit mostly.

Take some bits and bobs for the flight back in your luggage so he has something new to do. Stickerbooks, crayons and paper were great. Some books and magazines as they are expensive to buy.

Majorca is great, we went twice with DD, she was also 23 months the first time. Enjoy it.

Not just swim nappies - I would take normal nappies for the whole time too as they are likely to be much more expensive if you buy them there.

Loads of factor 50 sunblock. A bottle more than you think you will need, just in case.

Also, a DVD player or ipad if you think it will keep him quiet/still on the plane. Lots of snacks for the plane and the transfer if it is long.

We went away when DD was 18 months and only took 3 or 4 books. We were sooooooo sick of them by the end of a fortnight! After that we took lots of small books to read. Mr Men ones are good.

Firstly, don't stress you aren't going to Mars! Go to Mothercare buy a fabric swim nappy £5-£8 you just wash it out if anything occurs! & a spare cosi to change him into.

Must haves for the journey - little colouring book & pack of pencils £2.50 in Sainsbury's, a new little building type toy maybe Lego that'll keep his attention for a bit, a lunch pack which you can stagger through the journey & let him choose a comic in the airport.

On hols - sun hat, uv suit for the water, a couple of cot sheets & pegs (when it's nap time strap them into their buggy & peg a sheet over block out the rays & settles them easier if you're out later at night) second use for the sheets are over the side of his cot at night. You can buy high factor cream & nappies out there.

Don't be too rigid with his UK routine cos it's likely to go to pot out there! See how his appetite is as it maybe be better to give him a good lunch then a snacky tea. We gave our 26mth old a light tea about 5pm when we got back from the beach & before we headed out for the evening. That way is he isn't hungry you won't be too worried.

Go with the flow and enjoy!
