What's Paphos like these days and what's the weather like in Cyprus at Easter?

We had a lovely holiday in Paphos about 30 years ago Shock

My memories are of a "real" town which catered for tourists without being "touristy" iyswim. Busy enough but not too busy and with easy buses to get everywhere you wanted.

If I go back am I going to spend a week complaining that it's been ruined? i.e has it been over developed or has AI finished all the lovely local restaurants?

Also will it be warmish and dry at Easter?

I went last Easter and the weather was pretty good. It was hot enough to be in a bikini during the day but you did need a cardi at times in the evening.

I hadn't been to paphos before so I don't know how it's changed, but I thought it was fairly standard in terms of touristyness. Seemed like a nice little town really. A lot of tourists of course but not tacky.

We had a lovely holiday actually!

my mum and dad went back to paphos this year after last going 19 years ago. sorry but they hated it. the little hotels and bars/restaurants next to the sea have largely gone. not tacky just much more developed and they wouldn't go back. the weather was lovely in November but they went back to rekindle some happy memories and they just came away disappointed.

The weather can be hit and miss at Easter. Was lovely last year but 3 years earlier was cold. Cyprus has changed a lot in the last few years, lots of Russians there now and they are catered for the most now. I think there's better places to go.

Didn't like it 7 years
Ago but if you just want sun and aren't bothered about scenic will be ok

My DM went annually from around 1988 until the year before her death (so 2011). Although she said it had changed a lot over the years (where wouldn't?), she still loved it.

Oh, and DM had been at all times of year from March to November. Spring was still warm during the day, just less so than in the summer (as you'd probably expect).

We went last yr, I have to say I didn't like it. Ugly and tacky.

A friend who is a travel agent said that Paphos was very touristy.
