Hi there, we are planning to go on holiday for a week in may with our baby who will be 6 months. we love resorts that have an old town to wander around and near a beach. We were thinking maybe Dubrovnik but I'd love to hear of any other destinations people have been to similar that they liked. We were also thinking Spain but no idea where might be nice.

Bodrum in Turkey is lovely and the weather is gorgeous at that time of year. The beach is quite small but there are other nice beaches within 10 to 15 minutes buy bus. Turkey is very baby friendly too.

I agree Turkey is lovely that time of year

Thanks ladies looks great! Are there any other destinations you would recommend that are a little less in terms of flight time?

Problem is that May is not really summer weather unless you go to canaries, Turkey, Greece. You may be lucky in Spain though if you are prepared to take a chance.

We had a fantastic time at luxury family resort Martinhal at the very south west tip of Portugal with baby twins last year (so much so have booked again for this May). It's pleasantly warm during the day (though breezy), a short flight, gorgeous beach, an excellent creche, great facilities for babies eg their own food menu, babysitting, well equipped villas with baby equipment eg cot, pushchair, bath, buckets and spades, changing mats etc.

It's a resort, but there's a free shuttle bus into Sagres which is a nice, old village, and you can hire a car if you want to explore more of the area. Tbh though, apart from an unplanned hospital excursion, we stayed put!

It is dear though...but haggle with reservations on the price plus there's sometimes an MN room credit Smile.
