Naples

I've just booked flights to Naples for a short break this year. Has anyone got any hotel recommendations please? Either in Naples or the surrounding area, thanks!

We booked the Palazzo Decumani but were advised by friends/colleages not to stay in Naples so we got the coach to Sorrento and stayed in the hotel Capidomonte which was lovely (we had a classic room on the top floor and climbed up to the roof terrace for views of vesuvius). We were there for 4 days and squeezed in visits to Capri, Amalfi coast, Herculaneum and Pompeii.

We have stayed in the Sorrento area and we too were also advised to give Naples a swerve.
We stayed in the Minerva hotel in Sorrento, but Capri, positano, ravello are all lovely and the views are just amazing.
It is a good hour/hour and a half drive from Naples if I remember correctly but public transport system was pretty good when we there. (About 12 years ago!)
