Help packing for long flight, 2 week holiday and wedding in the sun with 18mo

We are off to a family wedding in the sun with our 18mo in a couple of months time. The flight is 8 hours and we're there for two weeks. We are staying in self-catering accommodation and will be right by the beach...

All very, very exciting but the reality of taking a toddler on a sunshine holiday is dawning on me and I'm finding the thought of packing quite daunting! We don't take holidays like this ever! We mainly holiday in the UK and occasionally Western Europe, but this is a huge treat for us for the wedding.

Help me MN!! Experienced travellers, what do I definitely not want to forget?? We will take a stroller, I bought him some clothes in the sales last summer, including a factor 50 swimsuit, and I stocked up on children's sun cream, but what other things are essential?

Insect repellant!!! Don't know where you are going, but children seem to attract mossies , or at least mine do. Ask at your pharmacy to get the best one you can for kids.

Also, depending where you are going, you may need to think about vaccinations / malaria tablets. Check on the NHS website to find out the current recommendations for your destination .
