Christmas 2014 in NY with 2 toddlers

Dh and I would love to spend xmas in NY one year. Next xmas dc will be 3.1 and 16 months.

In all honesty is this too young for them to get any benefit from such a holiday?

Would it be better to wait until they're older and if so what age? Or will it be fun and magical? (Ice skating with 3 yo, rockafella xmas tree, xmas dinner in fancy hotel)

Do three year olds like fancy dinners and ice skating? Perhaps not plus they are things you can do at home. I would wait till older for New York holiday

Is this the unreliable drunk DH from your other thread? Is he sweet-talking you with lovely things that might happen in the future if you're willing to go on tolerating his neglectful, disrespectful behaviour?

I wouldn't go with DC that young. I think jet lag would be bad and it will be freezing. You can do the lovely things you mentioned in many UK cities or in Ireland. Or perhaps a country hotel that offers babysitting.
