Playmobil Fun Park Germany

We're thinking of taking a trip to the Playmobil funpark in Nuremberg, Germany this summer with DS (who will be almost 4). Was hoping that someone who's been might be able to help with a few questions:

Flight v drive from UK?
If you flew, did you go direct to Nuremberg or to Munich? (struggling to find any direct flights from the UK outside of London).
If Munich, how did you get to Nuremberg & how long did it take?

Where did you stay? (any recommendations welcomed)
How long did you stay for?
What else is there to do in the area?
Are hotels/park/other attractions accessible on foot/public transport or is a car necessary?

TIA

Never knew this existed, but do know Nuremberg a tiny bit. Is Frankfurt airport an option for you? There's a direct train to Nuremberg from Frankfurt airport if you think ds would tolerate a 2h-ish journey (might be quicker on the express 'ICE' trains).

A bit late to this but we stayed in the Playmobil Hotel. It is excellent and much better than it looks on the website. It is literally right opposite the park and you can go over early which is great. I was a bit dubious thinking it was a travel lodge but actually it is much better. We flew to Munich but I would definitely fly to Nuremburg if you can (though only an hour to Munich airport). Two days is more than adequate.
